The housing market in the Arab world is undergoing unprecedented growth, given the global current state of affairs in economics, and the growing number of the region’s population. The Arab world makes up roughly 6% of the world population, and it is a given that this considerable number of people need to be housed and served accordingly, to ensure a stable future for the region. the Dubai real estate market alone, is set to grow by 46% in 2023, while the value of the Saudi Arabian real estate industry was forecast to amount to USD 161.3 billion in 2023. According to 2022 statistics, the demand for housing in the region has reached an all-time high, with the demand for housing in Saudi estimated at 3.9 million units, while in the UAE, it was 980 thousand units in 2022 alone.
Considering this growing demand for housing, the Forum is hosted in Abu Dhabi, on 11 – 12 September 2023, as a platform that examines the region’s rapid development in the housing sector, in correlation to the global sustainability accords. The forum aims to highlight the advancements in the housing development sector, the challenges, the growing need for green housing, and the market’s status quo in the region, as it pivots towards a greener future.
The forum will bring together the region’s housing and infrastructure ministries and government authorities, the private sector’s developers, contractors, builders, the technology providers, to openly discuss the challenges and opportunities present in the housing development sub-sectors, while showcasing the region’s subsidized housing programs, the breakthroughs, the achievements, and how these programs affect the real estate development eco-system. The forum will highlight the innovative solutions and strategies that the region needs to cater to its housing requirements while meeting the worldwide sustainability goals, and the importance of collaboration amongst all the stakeholders to drive the sector’s development.
