Anchored within the UAE’s resolute vision and unwavering dedication to advancing this sector, the “National Sports Strategy – 2031” emerged, driven by the goal of propelling the UAE to a position of leadership in sports, not only within its borders but also on regional and global platforms.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, emphasized the role of sports in advancing community well-being, fostering national pride, and positioning the UAE as a global hub for sports.

In a momentous juncture, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, granted his approval to the “National Strategy for Sports-2031” in June 2023. This historic milestone marked the launch of the UAE’s first comprehensive national strategy for the sports sector. His Highness underscored the significance of sports, proclaiming it as the optimal path for youth, a protector of societal health, and a means to proudly wave the UAE’s flag in international forums.

This strategy represents a lofty vision, one that aspires to construct an influential and globally competitive sports sector that inspires active lives within society. Its primary objective is the long-term development of the sports sector in the UAE, with the ultimate aim of achieving progress across various sports disciplines and securing global leadership for the UAE in the world of sports.

The strategy has made noteworthy contributions, expanding the foundation for community sports participation in the UAE, bolstering the platform for competitive sports, and enhancing the performance of elite athletes.
